MacBook air or pro

Hello. This is kinda off topic question but..

Should i buy a macbook Air (2014 early) or should i buy a Macbook pro 2012 (mid)

The macbook Pro is older, but i think its more powerfull, but the macbook Air is newer, so i think thats another advantage. I will mostly use the computer for editing pictures and things like that.

Thanks for any answer and opinion :)

Hi Hami, Good day,

It depends, IMO, macbook air is good for light stuffs and mobility, i guess you are looking for a MBP 13 - 2012?,

older models with an optical disk drives, which can be upgraded, of course it is about the weight, but you get some decent performance and more adds on, LAN, etc, card reader...

and RAM can be maxed up to 16GB, which is what I had done to my MBP15 - mid 2012 too

you can also get a 2.5 SSD for your OS bootup, it will helps alot.

One note, if you are still able to get applecare, go for it.

get casing to protect your aluminium exterior :)

MacBook Air 13" (Mid 2013-2017) Display Assembly $500 for just the part.

Cost to repair the display glass on the 2012 retail $100.

The 2012 is upgradable, repairable, better built and twice the machine that 2014 throw away is. I wouldn't take two of the 2014 machines for one 15" 2012 non-retina.

An SSD makes this machine awesome to behold.

I think you should go for the pro, due to it's greater upgradability, serviceability, and lower cost. In terms of raw power, it depends on which model you choose. If you are comparing a 13" 2012 MacBook Pro to 13" 2014 MacBook Air, the Air would be more powerful I believe, due to the newer processor, but I could be wrong. The 15" Pro is a much more powerful machine though. Nonetheless, the 13" pro is still a very capable machine, and I would recommend that,
