Serial Number is Unavailable?

I have a Mid 2007 iMac with a serial number that is Unavailable. Ive tried to obtain it in multiple different locations, everywhere it says that it is unavailable (terminal, about this mac, system report..) I've reinstalled twice and had no luck. I was reading that it is probable that the Logic Board had been replaced previously and the tech failed to reassign the serial, this is possible, as I am unaware of its past life. What can I do to get this thing a serial number? Im sure a customer wont want to buy it without..

Thanks in advance for the response!

Not sure it has that much value anymore. Here's the specs: iMac 24" 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo (Mid 2007). OS X 10.11.x El Capitan is the last OS this system supports.

It should be on the bottom of the stand.

You can take it to the apple store to get serialized, they should do it for free, give them a call first just to make sure.

Sadly, this is such an old system Apple won't work on it any more.

That's what I thought.... Does any one know the legitimacy of using it without a serial?

Some things that need access to the S/N won't work like find my Mac as an example. If you are thinking of selling it the buyer might question it as being a clean system.
