MacBook air 2012 ssd in a MacBook air 2015 possible?

Hello there,

I have a 2015 MacBook air 13" (A1466) with a 128GB SSD but i need more storage.

On the internet i saw a 256GB SSD from a 2012 MacBook air 13" (A1466).

Will the SSD fit in my 2015 MacBook air? Or there are limitations?

No it won't fit, you can use SSDs from 2013-2015 in the 2015 models, although the 2015 ones are slightly faster (average user will not notice a difference)

Both are PCIe interfaces but the 2012 uses a AHCI (SATA) unit and the 2015 is a NVMe 4 lane unit.
