I am getting what I believe is a firmware password lockout. It is a solid blue window, as in the installation window, but instead of the apple or the box with mac or ? , this window has 3 items. left side: a locked padlock, center a white textbox, for a password?, and right side is a square box with an arrow pointing right. but when I click on the arrow nothing happens. If I push any keys The text box in the center fills up with dots. weird huh? help

Change the RAM configuration (any change) boot and reset the PRAM immediately (command - option -P & R keys. You only get one free reboot per RAM change. Now boot from a system installation disk and reformat the drive and install a system.
