Why won't my device turn on?

I have had my itouch for a few months. I know it's fully charged and ready to go, but it will not turn on. And this is not the first time either. It happened once before and the next day it worked well, but it hasn't turned on for me in 2 days and I'm really worried. Please help!

Does it react at all when you press the buttons? plug it in? any sounds? backlight?
