water on trackpad not working

I had a bit of water falling on the trackpad and now trackpad and keyboard are not working. with external usb keyboard and trackpad all is Ok.

do I have to change the trackpad, or only some ribbons?

I had the same problem last summer on a 2012 and it turned out to be a software fix. This was a tough one. Here's my Q & A on it: Trackpad Does not Function Properly

This model uses a pass-though design where the keyboard is connected to the trackpad and then the trackpad and keyboard signals are forwarded to the logic board with a single connection.

So with both keyboard & trackpad dead it will either be the trackpad its self or the ribbon cable from the trackpad to the logic board that will need replacing (or both). Review this IFIXIT guide here: MacBook Air 13" Mid 2013 Trackpad Replacement
