Getting hot and loosing charge
iPhone 5 keeps getting hot when on charge also battery drains quickly evern when switched off.

It sounds like your battery is going bad. This was a problem with many iPhone 5 phones.

Thanks for the reply,
I have tried a new battery already still the same, the phone all works as it should but heats up and really quick battery drain.
Then you might have a short on your motherboard. A new phone might be the best option for you at this point.

What part of the phone is heating up? Battery? Rear camera?

Quite hard to tell without some more info. From what youve posted, its sounds like a battery issue. is it bulged at all?

No battery isn't bulged and the heat seams to be coming from around the SIM card area on the back of the phone.

Also the phone was 100% charged and switched on it also wasn't connected to the charger and still was warm the battery lasted about 5 hours then has turned off. The phone has also been totally reset using dfu mode. Saying that though I am sure if the phone is left on the white hello screen it behaves a lot better it's only when you have gone through setup and it's on the app screen.
