George, give us more info. What model iPod is it. What happened to it, did it get dropped, watered or kicked? what have you tried so far to fix it? Thanks

George,even so there is plenty of information missing, I am going out on a limb here and predict that you will need a new battery. If the battery is to depleted it may not hold/take a charge. If you give us the model number of your ipod, we can even get you the right link :) Of course this will only hold true for as long as nothing else (unusual) has happened to the iPod.
