roblouiscoleman bad battery is a possibility but you definitely want to check your DC in jack to make sure that it is properly connected to the board. For that you will have to disassemble your DVD player. This document should come in handy for that Philips PD9030_05 SM If the DC jack is properly mounted and you measured the input from the power adapter with a voltmeter, you could always check the fuse F1 as well as the caps, and see if you have power on the circuitry.
