UPDATE
I just saw the price that PowerBook Medic is charging for a used one $499.
I would call an ASP and ask for a price (do not give them your serial number because you don't want Apple to know that it might be repaired outside of them yet).
Also use the term, "Flat Rate Repair" if you call Apple.
Apple may give you a better price and your warranty would be retained.

Very helpful here Mayer! The only issue is going to be them replacing it themselves as its not just a simple fix. Proper grounding needs to be implemented as well as proper tools so that you don't strip screws or damage cables.
