Is this iBook capable of running on 10.3?

I found this ibook at the thrift store for 20 dollars. So I bought it a power cord, and tried it out. This computer works FLAWLESSLY compared to the other one I bought "refurbished" (A1040). Even the GPU is good, and it has never frozen once. But it runs on Mac OS 9.2. Which I cannot even use the internet on. I am planning on downgrading my other ibook because of the problems I was having on it.. But I wanted to know if I can use the Panther 10.3 discs on this one to upgrade it as well? Is there enough hard disk space to support that version? I know I can always upgrade the RAM.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi Sarah, According to Mactracker your unit is good up to 10.3.9. I would max the ram. Good luck.

If the 10.3 installation disks are gray, they are for that specific machine and will not work on your Clamshell.

Ok. The discs are black with an X on them. I am currently downgrading my white ibook. At first I was confused about the whole select volume part, but I just went into options and selected to overwrite and not save archives. Now for the clamshell, when I put the disc in, it showed different pictures than it does in the book, and on this ibook, but it seems like it was asking for the same prompts? I didn't go ahead with it just to be sure.

I am quite amazed and happy to say that it hasn't froze once through the whole process..
