Sudden poor WiFi and 3/4G reception

Hi,

My iPhone 6 suddenly developed signal issues recently regarding both WiFi and 3G/4G connections.

I am aware that there is a relatively common issue with the WiFi antenna flex cable - Wifi signal drops unless I stand right by the router! - Could this cause issues with cell data connections as well as WiFi?

Many thanks,

Duncan

Before updating to a new ios I had poor signal followed by complete loss of service 11/5/17. Now enjoying LTE as opposed to ghosts in the machine.

Yes that is possible. You don't say much about the history of your device and that is the most important thing to give when you ask people who don't have access to your phone for repair advice.

The related IC's could go bad but that is pretty rare. When things fail, it is usually related to drops, water damage, excess heat, bending/flexing etc.

So if you recently dropped your phone or it happens often enough, then the antenna flexes, may be partially or completely disconnected. Open you phone, following this guideiPhone 6 Logic Board Replacement, and check all the connections. Be very careful as the flexes are delicate and keep track of which screw goes where.

Hi, thanks for replying. Sorry for the delay - I've only just found time to fully check all connections. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have solved the issue. Could it be a software fault?

In reply to your questions - the phone is second hand so I'm not entirely sure of its history. It does, however, have some dents indicating that it has been knocked about. Although it has been working fully since I purchased it several months ago.

Many thanks for your help.

I wonder if anyone else has a possible solution for this? I have checked that all connections are good but that doesn't seem to have fixed it. Thanks!

I replaced the antenna and worked again but maybe your case is different.
