Need to replace ice maker

I had the ice maker on my LG side by side refrigerator, LFX25960ST, changed last year under warranty. Same problem again, but warranty is expired. I'd like to do it myself. Is there a guide that will explain the steps to be followed in replacing the #AEQ3675901 ice maker?

Thanks

Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on. On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary. Water hardness has a lot to do with how long a ice maker will work. These things gum up quickly.

I would remove it and let it warm up and play with it to try to determine where the problem is.

Before you replace the ice maker check the plastic tabs that are covering the ice chambers where the ice cubes are frozen. In my ice maker one of the tabs was severely bent and interfered with the mechanism, resulting in a loud clicking and grinding noise. I bent the tab back and the ice maker has been working fine since.
