iPhone 5S screen goes black

I just did a front display assembly install and everything works fine (camera , touchID, vibrate , buttons, no dead spots etc..) *except* the following:

It looks like the top edge is not completely flush with the metal frame like the other edges.

When I gently push the glass from either top corner to try to make it flush, the screen goes black (while device remains powered-on) .

In other words, I only get a picture when the top edge is not flush with the frame.

Any ideas?

Answer this question I have this problem too

The screen hooks in via clips from the housing and screen frame, did you make sure to get it hooked in on the top part before closing it up? Needs to be done from top first then to bottom last.

I think that might be it ... I did bottom first.. I didn't see any clips...

Upon looking closely I noticed that the ribbon cable of the replacement display front assembly had some exposed copper / is faulty (see picture)

I put back my old screen and it doesn't exhibit the screen going off behavior
