Can I swap the whole shell on 2012 to the 2014?

Macbook Air A1466. Mid 2012 vs 2014 help....

I have two MacBook airs.

The models on both are 13' and A1466

The 2012 has a display issue. The early 2014 has a logic board fault.

Am I able to swap the 2012 into the 2014 without hiccups or will I fry the board?

Basically I'm looking to do a direct swap but unsure of compatibility.

Before you start swapping parts, how about telling us the problems with each machine individually, we may have an answer to one or both of those to get them running.

It may not work, looks like the 2014 can be used on the '13, '14, and '15

but not the 2012. Personally I would see if the LDVS cables are the same and just try plugging it in without mounting it to test it.

Compatibility

MacBook Air 13" (Mid 2013/Early 2014/Early 2015)

MacBook Air 13" (Mid 2013-2017) Display Assembly

The 2012 display is only showing compatibility for that year.
