iPhone 6s home button reverse compatible with iPhone 6?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm looking to customize my iPhone 6 and seems like they don't sell custom colored rose gold home buttons for the 6 to match with custom housings.

Was wondering if anyone here knew if these are reverse compatible? I remember the 4S home button worked with the 4, and the 3GS home button worked with the 3G.

Let me know.

Thanks.

Answer this question I have this problem too

4s home button does not work on 4.

Replacing the home button kills Touch ID, don't do it.

Nah, it actually works, even though the press nubs/adhesive are on opposite sides, when you install them it still works the same.

From what I remember, the flex cable contact pads are reversed on 4 and 4s.

They are, but the button still clicks and works when installed with either flex button.

obvious not recommended you interchange them, but I found out when I got desperate during a repair once and it worked perfectly

Dam doesn't work dude...my iPhone 6 home button flex cable broke and I have a non working iPhone 6s phone and as soon as I connected the 6s home button to my iPhone 6 it completely $@$* off my phone like it just got killed off and as soon as I unplugged the home button my phone restarted and the apple logo appeared...tried again 3 more times and got the same result...guess I'm gonna have to order a new home button through Amazon hope this helps

Problem is that you'll lose your Touch ID function. We replace home buttons for custom ones. We order customised buttons even in non standard colors like green or red. There are also stickers available on market which will change look of your home without lose of Touch ID function.
