Where can I get service manual for a Mac Pro 2013?

Mac Pro Late 2013W

I would love to built one of these from scratch, but trying to find the service manual for part numbers has dodged me for a while. So far I can get most of the parts but have no luck with screws and other things. Hope someone can help. Thanks ahead of time.

We get this type of question about once a month about building something from parts. The problem is usually that the total cost of the parts far exceeds what the unit can be bought for as a whole.

UPDATE

I have changed the icon to the correct machine. Click on it to be able to see all the parts and the repair guide on it.

Actually is the other way around. If you shop or call some of the distributors you can come in around $600 to $800 less than the machine costs. And with the Mac Pro hitting the 3 year mark, prices for the core components are actually cheaper. I built a Mac Pro 2009 the same way, and this machine still works flawlessly (at almost 7 years old), did flash it to 2010.

What o you mean you flashed it to a 2010? I have both a 2008 & 2009.

You might consider looking for a cheap one with video problems:

@hijode - Apple lowered the price on some of the Mac Pro models last fall are you just noting the fact the distributers are clearing their stock?

Just like cars buying the parts to build a car, it's more expensive than buying the system straight up new. And likewise buying an older model when newer models arrive on the scene the older models will be cheaper, And lastly, buying a used system or even broken system is the cheapest.

The only caveat here is the country you are in could have VAT taxes or import controls that make buying an Apple system overly expensive were you live.

And with the Mac Pro hitting the 3 year mark, prices for the core components are actually cheaper. And actually it is cheaper to put this machine from scratch. After all Apple is still selling a 3 year old machine for $3000. As for buying one that has video card problems, it makes no sense, you still have to fix the cards, right?
