Cellular antenna connection points?

Hello, have been trying to fix my iphone for days now. Got the searching...-text in the top corner and have tried replacing cellular antenna assebly down at the bottom two times. Then it has worked for a day or two until it hasnt anymore. Today I opened my phone, took out the speaker, and put it in again. Then it worked when I pressed on the screen in the speaker-area so, pretty sure there is bad contact somewhere. Anyone know where all the antennas connection points to the chassis are so I can try and get it working again?

Thankyou in advance!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Not really 100% sure but there is an antenna cable plugging from the charging dock assembly to the logic board bottom part. Then there's a few more antenna pieces at the upper part. I think the one on the top left of the logic board is for the Wi-Fi (It actually connects under the logic board if I'm correct) and the top right part of the logic board also has a few antenna contacts which have screws to hold them in place.

Yea but the antenna that comes from the dock assembly, where is that connected to the chassis if it is at all?

@nordaune1995 it's not connected to the chassis, just the logic board and the charge port flex. It does nestle in the upper left corner of the loudspeaker that sits right near it, as it passes through to get to its connector on the logic board. You'll see a groove in that upper left portion of the loudspeaker module where the cable sits when everything is tied down.

The primary cellular antenna is the bottom bezel, connect to the dock flex by the 2 screws near the lightning connector, then there is a coax cable running to the lower end of the logic board.

The diversity antenna is the top bezel, connect to the logic board by the bracket below the 5GHz wifi antenna(the standalone antenna on the top left). Then the signal runs through the RF cables on the back of the board to the cellular module, the lower half of the logic board.

If you lost primary, the phone would still work, so I believe this could be a board issue, not just the antennas.

The wifi, bluetooth etc. works perfect though so I dont think there is a problem with the upper antenna. Everytime I open the phone, remove the speaker and put it back again it works for some time again when i press down on the screen in that area. It works like that til the battery dies and then I cant get it back so I don't think there is a board issue. Can the grounding clip cause the problem if there is bad contact?

by

Not grounding clip, I meant the antenna interconnect cable clip..

Oh think I understood you wrong the first time. So I would still have cellular signal even if one of them was bad?

by

The lower antenna cable does run under the speaker, and connect to the dock flex under the speaker.
