Can I swap the monitor between 2012 and 2011 model?

Hello I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Early 2011) with broken screen, everything else is working. My friend has a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012) without logic board and hard disk, he can give me the screen. The question is: Can i put a macbook pro 2012 screen in 2011 macbook pro?

Hey marcinjak9 ,

I can't find anything explicitly stating that they're compatible, but according to this Answers thread: "I'm trying to find the difference between 661-5868 and a 661-6594", someone was able to swap an early 2011 display on to a mid 2012 MBP. I imagine that it should work the other way as well, but don't quote me on that. The actual procedure of replacing the display is the same across both models, so it definitely can't hurt to try it!
