Phone will not turn on

I have tried holding power and the home button does not turn on. I took it into the apple store and they said the phone isnt receiving a charge at all and a replacement is $300.

I tried disconnecting the battery and turning it on while plugged in and nothing.

The phone was just laying on my night stand plugged in and decided not to work the next day.

The phone has never had anything replaced.

Is it the logic board that needs to be replaced?

Charging IC chip could be at fault. Have you tried a iPhone 6 battery that has some charge in it to check if if the phone still turns on? Don't need to replace the logic board just yet.

Also be sure to inspect the dock flex as well. If I recall correctly, the Geniuses at Apple use a USB multimeter and if it's reading 0.00 amps, then the dock may be at fault as well. Let us know how it goes!

Most common issues for a "out of the blue" dead iPhone 6 are that the tristar charging ic has failed--in the 6 this chip is required for the phone to boot. This chip gets damaged from use of non-Apple chargers/cords.

The second most common issue is a full short on the VCC_MAIN line on the board which can happen from a failed cap.

Both can be repaired but require specialty microsoldering equipment and troubleshooting. Most people send the board out for these kinds of repairs.
