Logicboard replacement MacBook Pro 2011

The logic board of my MacBook Pro late 2011 had died. I went to the genius bar where the replacement costs are too high. Now I found a used Logic board, but Is this Logic Board compatible with my machine?

The machine I have is a:Macbook pro late 2011 A1278 MC700LL/A

The replacement logic board is a: 820-3115-B 2012 model

Can anyone tell if this will work?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

This model has a replacement program on the logic board. Please tell us exactly what was happening that you feel it needs a new board.

I can't find about the replacement program. It is the 13inch macbook pro late 2011 with serial number C02F84FYDH2G.

It began with spontanious reboots of the system once in a while. However, after time it was getting worse. Reboots every minute. All without a kernel panic. The last time it gave a reboot including a kernel panic and isnt able to get through boot.

Tried to reinstall osx however it won't let me since the reboots.

brought it to apple who concluded it is the LogicBoard that needs to be replaced.

That's because you just changed it from the 15" model to the 13" which does not have a program.

Yes i'm sorry it was set on a 15 inch model but i have a 13 inch model

Use the iFixit parts. This logic board is not compatible. The correct logic part is here: MacBook Pro 15" Unibody (Early 2011) 2.3 GHz Logic Board

A fresh application of thermal compound will be needed. Remember, more is less when it comes to thermal compound, especially on the smaller laptop dies. Use about half the size of an uncooked grain of rice of [linked product missing or disabled: IF179-010] before reapplying the heatsink. iFixit has a guide on replacement of thermal compound.

When I compare the guides of both the 2011 and 2012 logic board. They are completely the same? So why would it not work?

There's some screw hole alignment, or so I'm informed...
