Logic Board could be dead? ESD?

This model laptop is owned by my granddaughter how thought the battery had died ,she purchased a new one and thought she'd do the exchange herself

Now the laptop will not start up at all

Any suggestions please

Tell us what it will do. It might also help to know exactly which MacBook Air it is. Also how old and how mechanically adept is your grand-daughter? Do you know if the new battery is good and what was your supply source?

Attempt to reset the p-ram on the machine. To do this, shut the machine down, then restart it, upon startup hold down cmd, opt, P and the R key, all at once, hold them all down. This will make the computer turn off again then back on, let it turn back off three times, then let it start up normally, the issue may be that the screen brightness got turned all the way down.
