MacBook Pro Late 2011 Keyboard Lights wont light up

My Keyboard Lights wont light up and my F5 & F6 keys dont do anything and i dont have the options of lights on my keyboard settings anymore

Can you give us your systems serial number so we can correctly identify which model you have. Once we have that we should be able to help you figure out what's happening.

Your macbook pro has two cables that connects the keyboard to the logic board. It is located directly above the battery. The wider cable is responsible for keyboard actions and the slimmer cable is responsible for the backlight. Your cable may just be loose or not inserted all the way in.

If you are inexperienced with computers, try taking it to the Apple store and ask the Genius if he/she can check the cable. Best of luck!

Thanks Lyka for your reply. I figured out that the small cable was the cable for the backlight. I believe the connector for this cable is broken and I am now enquiring if there is a replacement connector that I can put on the end of this cable to connect it back to the logic board.
