Bright spot along the entire bottom of the screen

My MacBook has recently (not sure exactly when) developed a bright cloud on the screen. This cloud is about .5-.75" tall and runs the entire length of the bottom of the LCD display. It's not uniform.

It resembles the brightness from pressure on the screen with a finger or so, but it's relatively faint and only visible really on a solid color. My wallpaper and the dock make it indistinguishable to the untrained eye, but it's evident when the system is booting.

I've seen fixes for the glass screen model involving suction cupping the back of the display assembly, but will that work with my anti glare screen?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Ronnoc Nailli most likely not, but you can always try. This is most likely caused by the diffuser sheets. You'd have to disassemble the actual panel to see what is going on. Since it is only minor I'd leave well enough alone until you absolutely need to replace it.

Yes, I had sort of assumed that, considering I can make similar clouds by applying light pressure on the LCD.

The last time I dismantled a display entirely (sheets) and all, it was a nightmare keeping everything clean and putting it back together correctly. That WAS on a retina mbp though.

Could this possibly be due to heat from the fans?

with painful precision and unrivaled tedium, i was able to "tweak" the bottom edge of the LCD assembly.

the screen now looks >95% like new.

i can only imagine that constant flexing of the lid over the years had contributed to some bending of the lower lid area near the hinges.
