when I put my mac on it takes longer than usual to load and start and I am not finding it funny, it was not like that before. How do I do system restore or reset in-case my brothers did something to it by mistake.

Sounds like your hard drive has developed problems. First thing I would fo it back up all my important data. Then use Disk Utility on your system installation disk to reformat the disk using the zero data option. This will map out any bad blocks that have developed. Now reinstall your system. Let us know if the boot from the DVD takes a long time as that would indicate other problems.
