Power Supply No Longer Working.

My Macbook will not charge my battery and will not turn on at all, not even if i have the power adapter plugged into it. i took it to genius bar and they told me i need a new power supply.

My Question is,

1) is the power supply a separate part or is it part of the mother board?

2) Where can i find one? (if its a separate part)

This is the part you are looking for. It is not part of the Logic Board and can be replaced independently. This Guide will walk you through the process.

I'm inclined to agree with Mayer. Unless there was liquid spillage, the magsafe board almost never fails. The down side is, if there was liquid spillage, a new magsafe will fix the problem... for all of 5 minutes. Then you'll need both a new logic board and magsafe board.
