It would boot but just get stuck at the splash screen, loading bar would go all the way but then just get stuck, tried booting to safemode , ran disk util and to get to the terminal and played around in there nothing. Anyway decided to reinstall and its no joy stuck in the same spot. so I shut it down and decide to take a break from it . come back after 2 hours and figure id give it another try start the computer and it boots fine. Can anyone tell me whats going on . I dont want to return the machine till I know its going to work fine Can some of you Mac gurus give a hand here

When the original update was don it was on a NIS it was then unmounted and move to do further testing it booted without the NIS so remounted it and it seems to be running fine now so I think it was the NIS . Im gonna check the logs now that its booted and see if thats the reason

by

What's a NIS?

by

Thanks for the help

by

NIS is network information service a client–server directory service protocol for distributing system configuration data

by

How's that working for you? Never used one, sounds like PC or UNIX to me.
