Any way to clean the scratches on the back?

Is there anyway to clean scratches from the back of the first generation iPhone? The back of mine is full of black scratches- is there a way to make the scratches more unified with the silver coloring? Or is this a result of the anodizing?

Radtech has a product called Ice Creme for this purpose.

I tried it once just for testing purposes, and it seemed to just buff out the scratches (and the shine), which made it look dull, but that was only one experience. It should at least get rid of the black!

I've seen Ice Creme before... does anyone have any in-home answers?

Of course you can always do the ultimate and most expensive solution of replacing the rear panel.

But... I didn't ask that. I know I could replace it, but I'd rather just fix it.

Yes, I know, I was just adding on to this general question the 'final solution' for this. The last resort thing you can do, for anyone looking at this question for info.
