No additional sound drivers are needed when using the Mac operating systems.

My MAC is giving the start up sound but when I am in Snow Leopard 10.6.3, it says no input / no output device, and thus no sound. I can't listen songs, enjoy movies.... plz help

go to system prefs and click on sound. Click on output and see if internal speakers are an option. If so click on it and see what comes up. If nothing shows then run your disk Utility and see if it shows any errors.
