Water Damaged, New Battery...no life, now what?
Ok, So here is my dilemma. I recently dropped my iPhone 5 into water when I fell off a dock. I was wet briefly, and when I got out I immediately looked at my phone...which was creaky wet but still working. After a minute or two, I saw flickering, and then I saw grey and black bars, then nothing. I did try to power it down and the screen was unresponsive. When I arrived home, I plugged it in and tried to start it. It turned on, was all bars and then cut out and never worked.
So. I took it apart, all indicators showing red. I followed all of the ifixit steps. Dried all parts, alcoholed the parts that needed it from the steps and dried it all off. Cleaned all of the connections, put it all together and still nothing.
I purchased a new battery from Ifixit, and installed that. Connected it to the cpu, connected to a wall charger, and still no life. Tried all of the rescues, still nothing.
When is dead...dead? I ran the Dr Fone rescue so I could at least try to get my photos, and it won't recognize the device.
Any help would be wonderful.
Is this a good question?
