How do you plug the cables into the logic board?

i have the logic board installed but am having difficulty plugging in the tiny cable connectors into the logic board.

is there a special way they go in?

this is for a late 2006 Apple Macbook Pro 17" with a a1212 logic board.

I read through the guide that got me to removing the logic board after popping the cable ends loose with the smuger. But putting them in by just pusging down (reverse of how they were removed) doesn't seem to work and I'm not sure how hard to press is too hard

With the help of a lighted magnifier I was able to see why it wasn't going in
