What are the normal running processes?

I wanted to know what are the normal system processes. I have very few third party apps that run in the background, but I seem to have a couple dozen of processes running that I have no idea what they do. Is there anyway to find out what are the normal or default background processes on Snow Kitty?

I have a total of 50 processes, with all kinds of funny names like: "racoon", "blue" and many more.

While I don't know much about normal mac processes, I have to say that I find the idea of processes named "racoon" or "blue" quite funny.

My Mac runs leopard, but the processes are similar, here are 2 pics of my active processes, I don't see anything named "Blue" or "racoon" but there are about 44 total

Snow Leopard basically uses 64-bit versions of leopard's 32-bit processes, and there are no new major processes, except GCD
