Locating water damaged component on logic board

My 13" Mid 2010 MBP was not waking up from sleep mode, in order to "re-wake" it I was forced to disconnect the battery for a period of time then reconnect and power it back on.

In order to solve this problem I preformed several SMC resets and even replaced the battery, the problems stopped for a week with my new battery then started back up again.

Then one day it just would not turn on, I took it to simply mac and they diagnosed it

So at this point I do not want to spend that much to fix it, what is the best way i can locate this so called "water damage"? (this laptop did not go near any liquids at all) or is it something else?

Normal cost for this type repair would be around $350.

I usually do liquid cleans on Macbooks for $75. I must be WAY undercharging haha.

The board costs about $200-$300. It is only natural for someone who is being raped paying California taxes & store rent to charge $100 to $200 on top of that part cost to install it, particularly when there is a good likelihood of that six year old POS board dying and you coming back for warranty.

99% of the time this kind of thing is liquid, it doesn't happen on its own. Open it up and go hunting, corrosion near U4900 or BIL is first guess.

As a temporary solution for sleep you could use hibernation. Type in Terminal:

sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 25
