Why is my dell latitude d620 not copying the mp3 file?

while coping the mp3 file to my laptop it show a error message unable to copy

either your drive is full or write protected

Where are you copying it to? if its an SD card, make sure the switch isn't flipped. Try copying a file to this drive on another computer (given its removable). If it works, then its a software issue (most likely). Try any of the other three USB ports (the ones on the back preferably). What OS do you use?

i am trying the copy the file in hard drive only but it shows an error message "acces denied, make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use"

my operating system is windows professional xp sp2

Do you have permissions to that file? Are you trying to copy it from another users account?

First make sure that you have permission to copy the files. If not you may have to log in as the owner of the files and either modify the permissions or simply share the folder. This article may help if it is a permissions issue: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308419
