Front Camera Lens ring

Hello

I've smashed my 5s screen so I'll have to replace it. I've found that when I transfer the front camera it's not in the middle anymore. So the lens ring holds the camera in place. Does anyone know how to get that to come off and keep the adhesive so it will stay in place?

Thanks

Hey Lukas, the best way of removing the old camera lens holder is by using heat on the front of the screen, you can then glue it on to the new one, although it can be sometimes particularly hard to still line up the camera in the middle.

what glue to use to put back on? I could not get the OCUV to work? I also lost that white filter next to the camera what can I use to replace that?

You can either use unibond or something similar, or double sided adhesive, don't waste time on trying UV glue, it hasn't got a strong enough bond, which is why on new screens with the lenses in, you can take them off super easy.

I tend to use small strips of double sided adhesive, not only is it pretty strong, you also don't run the risk of pulling the coloured coating off underneath like you would with normal glue.

Don't worry about the white filter, yes it's used to help the light sensor etc. But I've never seen any issues occur from not placing it in. :-)
