MacBook Pro 15" Late 2008/Early 2009 Intermittently able to turn on

I have a Macbook Pro Late 2008/Early 2009 15" unibody. It won't turn on anymore. Before this, it would intermittently turn on successfully, so something must be loose/disconnected/wiring gone bad inside.

I have an 85 Watt adapter.

The green light (not orange) turns on when it is attached.

The battery is old and in pretty bad shape, but it charges and the macbook battery charge indicator (green pinpoint lights) show up full.

I tried to do the keyboard disconnect and boot by shorting the appropriate pads on the motherboard. I tried removing the hard drive and pressing the power button. I tried it with just the battery and just the magsafe.

Now I'm looking at the DC-in board and maybe some other things. But I'm short on time right now. Any suggestions? Based on the symptoms, what is the most likely point of failure? Seems to me it is as simple as the logic board is probably not connected to power at all, but I'm just not very familiar with this machine and I don't know where that is.

Any help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks!!!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Well it doesn't turn on anymore...I tried a number of times but since a while ago I haven't had any success. So I can't install anything.
