Cannot turn off Mac or restart without resetting nvram

I got a Macbook Pro 2011 15" with Snow Leopard OS.

I cannot restart it without it starting to beep (3 beeps repeatedly).

If I turn it off, it just beeps and I cannot turn it back on until its out of power.

If I restart it, I can get it to boot by pressing alt+option+r+p untill it beeps twice and boots up.

its frustrating, and i cannot upgrade iOS without restarting.

What can be the problem ? maybe the ram slot ?

The three beeps indicate a RAM issue. To find out what RAM it uses, please give us the last four figures of your serial number. Try reseating the RAM.

does it beep every other second like:

beep (1 second pause) beep (1 sec pause)

or are they different lengths? apple has a support page for this.

If you hold down the power button in the top right for ~5 seconds your MacBook will force shutdown and stop beeping. Three beeps is an error code on the MBP's for a RAM issue. What you can do to try and resolve this yourself is get a Phillips #00 screwdriver and follow this guide to remove your RAM sticks.

iFixit MacBook Pro RAM Replacement 15"

Shouldn't take more then 10 minutes to remove them. Then try inserting a single RAM stick into one of the ports and see if it will turn on and boot up. Repeat this step with each RAM stick in each port. This will tell you if one of your sticks of RAM, one of the slots, or something else on the Logic Board is the issue.
