I have a iPhone 5 and go to remove battery
I remove the screen and this is a verision phone and their is a black plate overtop of the battery how do I remove that

You have separated the front screen, which is basically bad. If you get everything working eventually, this will have to be repaired with adhesive, to reattach the screen. To get the front screen plate off, take a very thin sharp blade and insert tip down about half mm between frame and the screen plate just above the headphone jack port, and pry the screen frame up, being careful not to damage either component. Hopefully you remembered to remove the two pentalobe screws at the dock at the start.

how did I do that sir. I lifted up the screen and their is the black cover that's below the screen

touchscreen and lcd are supossed to be together and when u take em off they should be together like here

It is an iPhone 5 CDMA Verizon phone. Removed screws to access battery. Their is a plate covering were the battery is and we are having difficulty trying to remove the plate to access the battery underneath. The phone is in excellent working order. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated in removing this plate. Thank You

It looks like when you lifted the screen you separated the glass from the plastic bezel. You need to remove the two pentalobe screws near the lightning port and lift the plastic bezel out of the frame. You need to lift the entire plastic bezel out, not just the plate. The plate will come with the bezel.
