Very dim brightness on 2008 MacBook

Hi All,

The brightness of my 2008 Macbook is very dim, even at maximum brightness from System Settings. I have used color calibration with the blue tint on my 2008 macbook and even though is not a fair comparison, you can see my 2012 MBP is very bright in comparison. Could someone please advise if this has to do with the inverter or the bulb?

Options

Bruno, could be a bad inverter or bad CCFL's in your LCD. I'd replace the inverter first. If that does not change, then you may need to consider a new LCD or replacing the CCFL's (not easy).
