Removing plastic hinge cover

I used the teardown for the display to tighten the hinge which went well. The problem was there were no good description on how to remove the hinge covers and I broke it. One I believe ifixit should have better pictures of this process. two, is there a glue to fix the hinge cover in place that one can recommend.

Answer this question I have this problem too

I have exact same problem with MBPr 15" mid2012. Visited Genius Bar but they said cannot tighten; must replace display unit . Was it difficult to do? How can I avoid breaking the hinge cover? What glue did you use? So many questions...

If the clutch cover is loose all you'll need to do is tighten the screws. If its cracked you'll need to either replace the cover MacBook Pro Retina 15" A1398 Hinge Clutch Cover Unibody 2012 2013 or replace the complete display assembly.

1. IFixit does not create all the guides (notice the black button "Create a Guide" left center of top device page. - the one with the yellow dot in front of it?) anyone can create a guide.

2. You can add a note to Step Nine and 10 alerting others of your problem - better to comment there than here.

3. Contact cement - art store, hardware store, auto store.
