Is it possible somehow to replace the battery?

I have a problem with my mac, the battery is not seen by a computer, I have contacted apple and what they said is basically that I need to buy new laptop as it is out of warranty. Is there any way to replace the battery? (I know that it is sealed and glued onto the body).

Thank you in advance

This is a battery for 15 inch unibody MacBook Pro and I do have the Retina display one which battery is sealed and glued in place. Even on iFixit teardown it was kept untouched. Thats why I am asking.
