Keyboard stopped working afte I opened laptop

Husband spilled coffee on laptop, I took it apart to clean. By accident I ripped track pad ribbon and the keyboard doesn't work. What should I check? Should I just replace the entire keyboard? Thank you!

Examine the rest of the inside of the machine for spilled liquid and corrosion, burn marks or swollen components (use no forced air) it may need to be cleaned and completely dried before starting.

The worst thing you can do is apply power to a wet machine, or, leave the battery and charger connected until you know it's dry.

Follow the tags at right to see what you could be in for.

Generally replacing the entire top case is easiest in a case like this.
