switch HD from MBP middle 2010 (500Gb) to MBP early 2009 (250Gb)

We already switch the HDs and simple the MBP early 2010 doesn't work with the early 2009 HD.

what should I do?

Sounds creasy but we need more space for working purposes but my boss wants to keep the new one.

Try reinstalling the system on the drive that doesn't work.

in an external case. Use it for storage.
