iPhone 5 touch won't work after screen replacement

I replaced the screen for my iPhone 5 and the touch is still not working. The touch was not working from before as well but the glass was shattered so I figured replacing the screen would help. With the new screen on, the touch is still not being recognized to the device but the back light and the lcd still work properly.

most likely cause here is drop damage to the primary touch ic. this is a very specialized repair that would be impossible to DIY.
