Microphone still does not work after replacement

My microphone does not work when talking through the ear piece speaker on phone calls. It works when I put the phone on speaker.

I originally replaced the OEM dock connector a long time ago so I figured the 3rd party mic. just broke after 1 year or more being in the phone. I just replaced the 3rd party one with another 3rd party and I still have a broken microphone.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Did you mean you had changed the MIC (the part in the picture) alone?
