not powering on after upper case replacement

changed the upper. done it many times.

its not powering up on this one. bought the upper from ifixit. never had a problem before. any ideas..?

Disconnect the keyboard ribbon cable from the logic board and trigger the two power pads to power on the logic board. If the fan spin then you know the top case is faulty. A working machine has 3.42v on one of the two power pads but the value could be wrong with a faulty top case attached to the logic board.

Good idea. A link on how to locate the power pads on this model would also help.

The most common problem with this repair is not completely seating the keyboard to logic board ribbon cable. I use a piece of tape to help grasp the cable and pull it into the slot. Also make sure you remembered to open and then close the locking tab.
