What is the the mainboard chip/part in the picture (USB?)?
I have an iPhone that someone else tried to fix, but the part circled was destroyed and replaced by solder blobs by them. The USB port isn't working, so I think is either a fuse or USB protection device of some kind. I am hoping if I replace it, or at least clean the solder mess they left that the USB will work and the iPhone will no longer be a brick.

Update
I found the answer elsewhere, the part is a noise filter for the USB data lines, and I bypassed with wire links on the PCB pads. That got the phone working fine with iTunes. The actual part is a Panasonic EXC14CE900U according to what I found.
Is this a good question?
