New SSD in Silicone USB Enclosure Not Recognized

I bought the 1 TB SSD Hybrid 2.5" Hard Drive with the Update Kit included and received it today. When I plug the drive into the enclosure, it isn't recognized. The USB cable seems a little loose, there is not spot it 'clicks' into, but maybe that is normal.

Are there any guides for dealing with the USB Enclosure? Could this just be a faulty enclosure?

Thanks!

Your drive is likely not formatted. Put the drive into the enclosure making sure the drives SATA connector is fully seated, then plug in your USB cable into the case and your computer.

Now start up your computer does the drive appear to be running (sound, vibration and if present on the case a LED light)? If it does lets try running Disk Utility you'll find it in the your Applications folders Utilities folder. Does it alert you the drive is not formatted? If it does acknowledge it and format the drive. Once done it should show up on your desktop,
