C2D MacBook display goes black at certain angles

I have a C2D white MacBook. It works perfectly except, at certain angles, the display goes black. Is this an inverter issue or is there some other part I need to replace. Thanks.

Just the cable or the whole inverter? The only inverter part here is this one: MacBook Display Inverter

I'm guessing you think I just need something like this for the non unibody 13"? MacBook Pro 15" (Model A1150) Inverter/iSight Cable

Maybe the inverter cable is not well seated in its connector inside the display and moving the lid would connect and disconnect it or the cable is broken in the hinge but still makes contact when the hinge is at a certain angle. Check if you still see the desktop when the screen is black by passing a flashlight over the top cover apple icon. if you see the desktop then the inverter cable should be the problem.

I do still see the desktop when the backlight goes out. So this is a cable not a board issue, right? Just don't want to order the wrong part.

Yes, cable issue.
