Will the screen replacement ruin Touch ID sensor?

Will replacing the lcd assembly on an iPhone 5s ruin the touch id sensor? Ive heard its not repairable, but is there a way to switch the lcds and still save/replace the same touch id cable/home button in the new screen?

You can always remove the sensor from the display.

you can keep the original home button on the original screen, there are two screws on the metal plate holding it in place and a screw on the flex which screws it on the back plate, that screws needs unscrewing then you can take the flex and home button off to put on your new screen, usually it does work, but i have had a few where it hasn't worked, but most are successful, hope i helped you my friend
